ELKHART– A brand-new effort to raise awareness of domestic abuse in our neighborhood.
The YWCA and CAPS began Domestic Violence Awareness Month Tuesday.
They positioned a purple ribbon on an elk outside Elkhart City Hall. That’s because the city has one death in the previous 12 months from domestic violence.
Savana Best was eliminated by her partner.
” So we’re here truly to stress that domestic violence takes place all over, to females, kids, all socioeconomic brackets and there’s an strong link in between domestic violence and child abuse,” stated Linda Baechle with the YWCA.
Baechle states as many as half of domestic violence victims have kids that are abused by the very same person.
